Medieval Wedding Sketch

The first of about 12 drawings for my Intro to Art Portfolio project of sorts. We're supposed to turn in weekly 1 hr drawings of anything. Each week we should draw said subject in different styles, mediums, etc so we can practice what we learn and all that jazz.

I had asked everyone's opinions on what to draw and my friends who recently got married suggested maybe a drawing of them in medieval/renaissance clothing would be a possibility. Lo and behold it was a great idea! Not that the other ideas weren't. It's just that this way I had basically a stock photo to use and could refer to for all my 12 drawingsand such. Also it was a cute idea...

Unfortunately the couple I drew has little resemblance to the actual couple and it doesn't help that I made toooons of mistakes since drawing on 18"x24" paper is NOT my thing. I don't like drawing large like that... Anyway I hope to improve it with each week and eventually try to make it more realistic or maybe more anime - we'll see! Btw I HATE flowers... And about an inch or two got cut off on either side when I took the picture. Oops

I know it doesn't look very finished because it's not but I had already spent well over 2 hours working on this when it was only supposed to be 1hr (I just couldn't stop! designing the dress and attempting to add details and the flowers...it wouldn't end!). I wanted to really finish it and add shading and such but that was just overkill I think and plus it was 5am already when I finished and I had to get up in 3 hours....
